Time for another art feature! Sorry for my inactivity recently, school has taken over my life and I should have some original stuff posted sometime in the week. But anyway onto the art.

So I've seen Emmi's work a lot on tumblr and I've always loved it, but haven't taken the time to look into it more and I never realised all her works were from one person (like I saw them and didn't think to link them all to one artist). It's all very pastelly and something that I can see going down well on the blogs I follow on tumblr, well it does. But I want to look at it in more detail than that I suppose. And put it all together because not all of her pieces are the same.

Her more recent work uses very similar line and tone but if you go back a few pages in her deviations you can see a pretty wide range. I like her more sketchy hard line images as well as the blobbier ones (blobby is a postive word in my mind).

I love her use of colours so much, just so soft and tranquil. Kind of euphoric? (that isn't quite the right word but I hope you get what I'm saying). Sort of disturbingly peaceful.

I think I love her creature mashing work the most really. I mean how awesome would it be to have owldragons? Terrifying but cool. Again I love the colours here, and this is one of the pieces she uses more colour in and I love how pretty it looks even when using block. The use of line enhances this.

And bunnies, bunnies enhance everything...

This piece just makes me laugh. I'm not laughing at it, it's brilliant, it's just the sheer ridiculousness of it and the dinosaur girls face that just make me crack a smile. I always love it when artist do the soft colourng on features like the knees etc. it adds sometime to a piece that I can't quite put my finger on it.

This piece is where I first properly looked at Emmi's work. It intrigued me greatly and I love the message with it "if we were a little stranger on the outside to match the strangeness on the outside" humans would be perfect. I just love that, humans are so strangely imperfect inside, it should be shown on the outside to fit.

My only problem with having hoves or claws would be that shoes would be very hard to make and I love shoes...

This is probably one of my favourite pieces of her's, it's intriguing for one thing but I just love the use of coloring, the lines and the expressions. Something about it gives me such chills.

There were so many to pick from I wish I'd done like 5 more pictures, but I'm becoming tired and words aren't coming easy so you can check them out for yourself and I can keep my muddled thoughts.
I just love her work, Intriguing is probably the best word. Amazing too.

So check her out for yourself on her Deviantart and Tumblr.

Thanks for reading. Should have an outfit post on soon :*

Ok so I've been a bit inactive recently.  I was supposed to go out and take pictures with Lizzie today but it was my sisters birthday so I couldn't really... But I managed to get some pictures on Saturday when me and Tom and some others went round a friends to jam (I was mostly just being ignored as I played the piano).
Before you ask no I can't play the guitar. I've had it for like a year and a half now and took it in the hope that maybe someone would teach me how to use it but no one did .n. I will learn, I will. I haven't learnt because I've never found the time and I can't get formal lessons because my mum is paying for my Piano and Japanese atm and those are my top priorities. I would love to learn though.

We didn't get many picutres though because Tom was ill and just wanted to get inside (he also had his bass and very heavy amp so I don't blame him for not wanting to stop for long).

Anyway...on with the outfit.

Scarf - My Mum's //  Top - Primark // Hoodie - Gift // Skirt - ARK ///Tights - Asda //  Bag - Ollie & Nic. // Shoes - Debenhams// Ring - River Island @ Asos//

So in love with this skirt, it's a bit shorter than I usually like but it's so pretty and such a nice colour. I also love these boots and can see myself having some fun making coords with them (not to mention they were a bargain at £13.50).

Should have a few outfit post up next week, this is probably it for this week, maybe do an art feature post so watch out for that. Thanks for reading :*

So I was pretty happy when I won a giveaway a couple of weeks back hosted by someone on tumblr. It said on the giveaway that I was going to receive an 'accessory goodie bag' which sounded pretty cool. I was thinking maybe a couple of pieces of jewellery, maybe some socks or a purse or something. Some sort of Japanese fashion item perhaps because they do specialise  Korean and Japanese fashion.

I didn't get any of this. Well I got some jewellery but it stopped there

And I mean I don't mean to sound ungrateful at all and I feel lucky to get items but I do feel very mislead. Not by the blogger who held this becasue they weren't to know, but by Vivi Clothes themselves.

This is what I got, this is not what I call a goodie bag and not remotely 'Japanese Fashion'. I mean they aren't bad items at all, they're cute (especially the teddy earrings) and not badly made, but still, it couldn't have cost them much.

That's the main thing though, they got advertising on the blogger who hosted the giveaway's blog to like 1000 people for this. Which can't have cost them more than £2 (max). It feels like a bit of a scam to the blogger if you ask me. So I guess this is a warning to anyone wanting to hold a giveaway from them, do be warned our followers won't get an amazing prize at all. It just seems like they don't care.

But the main reason I wouldn't buy from them is the way this was packaged. Just as you see above in a small envelope which was pretty useless. When I picked it up from under my door the envelope was ripped by the earrings and I could have easily had absolutely nothing from them.So I do think they need to re think the way they package things.

Overall I feel like I've just been scammed really. I was promised a goodie bag and expecting some Japanese fashion items. I got 3 pairs of earrings from them and they didn't even bother to check if I had my ears pierced before sending this out (I don't).

This isn't the fault of the person who hosted the giveaway either and she feels awful now (which she really shouldn't) and this makes me even more annoyed at Vivi clothes.  I've seen plenty of people on tumblr hosting these giveaways who have no idea that Vivi Clothes is pretty much scamming them for advertising. It's not on at all and I've made this post just to warn people. And vent of course.

Sorry this is a bit messy, but you get the idea.
Don't buy from them is my advice

Ok so these photos are from a couple of weeks back when me and Lizzie went out to take photos. It didn't turn out great as we were trying some new things out that didn't go to plan. But it wasn't in vain because I have more ideas on how to do things and also there are these pictures.

The main reason it didn't work is that I was feeling rather un-model like and kept pulling the ugliest faces in the world. But never mind that... I'll forget about that...

Shirt - Awwdore // Bag - Marrakech // Belt - Upcycled // Skirt - Topshop // Socks - River Island// Shoes - Red @ Brantanno//

So overall the photos from that shoot are these. But we'll try again another time and get it right I'm sure. Anyway, thanks for reading. My next update should be a makeup review of some sort so stay tuned for that c:

So I've been listening to a lot of anamanaguchi recently. It's kind of strangely relaxing to me and their music is definitely addictive. Anyway, the photos today are from yesterday where I went to town with Tom, I only bought a couple of bits of makeup while he bought some new trucks for his skateboard and I forgot to buy earphones, which I got today.
Anyway, on with the outfit.

Shirt - BDG@Urban Outfitters // Dress - Pins and Needles @ Urban Oufitters // Necklace - Gift // Bag - Ollie & Nic// Socks - Charity Shop// Shoes - Prettylittlething.com//
Rings: Awwdore // Marrakech// Charity Shop// Marrakech// Awwdore//

It took me forever to try and get this shirt how I wanted it. I would've just tucked it in if I were wearing a skirt but I couldn't do that and it was really baggy so I was trying to fit it and it just didn't work. Anyway, you can see here that my ring collection is coming along nicely. I hope to make new additions soon :D

Anyway, I should have another update on Monday I think. I won't be posting as much as I was in parts of the summer because I'm back at school now and there's a lot of work to keep on top of and that is my priority. But I won't neglect this blog, I enjoy working on it and it's something to work on in my free time. I should be doing some reviews on the makeup I bought yesterday too so stay tuned for that.

Thanks for reading, have a good day :)

Ok so the title for today is a Dinosaur Jr. song because it was my outfit from yesterday when I went to see them. If you were wondering, they were awesome, pretty loud and Tom is still half deaf but I had fun. Most of my friends got stuck into the Mosh pit but  was happy with my place right at the front getting bashed round a bit.

To be fair I don't remember all that much of it, I was kind of in a trance and it all blurs into one. Great night though.
Anyway back to what you're here for, the outfit.

Jumper - Sparke & Fade @ Urban Outfitters // Shorts - Bitching & Junk Food @ Urban Outfitters // Shoes - Doc Marten // Necklace - Market in Barcelona // Bag - Stall in Marrakech//

The jumper is super comfy and as you can probably already tell I'm in love with these shorts. I think you'll be seeing a lot more of the bag too. Though it still smells a bit...

Rings:
Awwdore // Marrakech // Marrakech // Unknown //

Some of the editing went a bit weird. They were a bit over exposed so I tried to compensate but I'm tired from the first day back at school (eugh) and last night so it didn't really work and I didn't have to patience to make  it work.

Anyway, if you are back at school how's it going?
Bit of a short speech here but I am exhausted. I meant to post this a lot earlier but my internet cut out and so it had to wait until now...
Anyway, until next time ciao c:

I think I'm dreading going back to school this year more than I ever have. And it's only 2 days away. But one thing I always enjoy is shopping for stationary, getting cute stuff. Even stuff I'll never use. I wasted loads of money at Blott this year on rubbers I'm just going to use as decoration but they were just too cute to resist.

I thought rather than just showing you pictures of everything (because a lot isn't cute) I made collages instead.

All the aroable rubbers you see (and below) are from Blott, seriously I spent like £10 on rubbers not even joking. The notebooks are from Asda and they're really cute and will be perfect next year. And Tom got me the pens from Hong Kong.

*bonus picture* A bit of a small post I know but I am editing stuff for new outfit posts atm and will possibly have pictures of tomorrow (going to see Dinosaur Jr.).

Until then c:
